Help:Editing

From Environment & Energy Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Every member is free to edit the articles, while keeping within the General rules.

Editing may mean:

  • adding further relevant information
  • correcting informational errors
  • correcting grammar/spelling errors (check This is a minor edit box below)
  • adding references and links

To proceed with editing, you have the choice of clicking the [edit] at the right of each section or, if you wish to do more general edits, the edit tab at the top of the page.

NOTES:

1. if you are not sure about a potential edit, please ask about it in the discussion page, rather than do it directly in the article page. This is particularly good if a proposed addition cannot be substantiated, is doubtful or may be controversial.

2. it is possible to revert editing to a previous version. If you go to Recent changes in the Navigation pane, you can click on previous versions. Remember other members can do this, as well, so any editing that is not acceptable can be reverted on a simple mouse click.

3. if you are adding something that is unsubstantiated, argumentative or controversial, please precede the paragraph(s) with the {{controv}} template
