Help:General rules

From Environment & Energy Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

I don't want this EEWiki to be burdened with rules, but there are a few which are necessary:

  • No gibberish, blasphemy, sexual connotations, racism, bad language or obscenity in either articles or discussions, please. If your elderly spinsterish Great-Aunt Jane wouldn't approve, it has no place here!
  • Technical jargon is permitted but slang should be used as moderately as possible, especially if its meaning may change geographically.
  • All units should be metric, preferably SI. Imperial values and units may optionally be added in parentheses () after the metric ones. They should be written according to ISO 31-0.
  • No ad personem attacks on anyone, whether a member or not.
  • No publicity, direct or disguised, is permitted. If a specific manufacturer, model or any other commercial representation must be mentioned in an article or a discussion, please counterbalance it with a competitive subject. This Wiki must be kept impartial. References may be made to commercial sites but without mention of the name of the company or the product.
  • Please, good English (UK preferably, but US or other dialects will also be accepted!)
  • Make the articles as interesting and as factual as possible. It is not permitted to use this Wiki as a sounding board for an agenda.

I, as Site Administrator, reserve the right to modify or delete any infringement of these rules, to edit articles or discussions, to send warnings to members infringing the rules or to suspend or ban them, without appeal. --Eewadmin 08:26, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
